NEW BOOMERS ARE HERE!! I stopped by the dealer today to see if they had any new pics or brochures. All he had was a couple of postcard things with pics of the new 35D with the new 17LA loader on it (has a very unique loader configuration, with something no one else can boast in this class-a self leveling feature!!) and one with the new 84" belly mower, rear discharge mower. It almost needs all of this 84" to cover the tracks of the new rear turf tires that appear to be well over 15-18" wide! His New Holland News magazine showed a 35, 35D, all the way up to a 45 and 45D!!! The new Boomer has something called a powershift hydrostatic or something like that, also an industry first. There appears to be a twin hydro pedal feature just like JD, with brakes on the left side (if I read the pic correctly) This tractor is absolutely SWEET! The loader reaches way out in front of the tractor, probably to help attain a high lift height due to lowering the rear pivot point to line up with the body lines. The loader bucket has the dump linkage similar to the 430 JD loader, with the ram attaching to the linkage instead of mounting right on the bucket. Should allow a HUGE breakout spec! The picture on the postcard shows this loader with a loaded bucket and the bucket is curled back to almost a horizontal position! Sure will help keep the material in the bucket and allow it to be heaped up more when the bucket is this close to the ground! It also appears to be around a 74" bucket or thereabouts! The dealer had just gotten back from the training thing, and could not find the loader specs. He has a few buddies that own JD stores, and says this new Boomer should be far and away better than the 4500 and 4600 JD's in every aspect. He has my number, and I am first in line to drive this 35D when it arrives in March!! I wonder if NH has bumped this engine up to a 4 cylinder? Forgot to ask him this!

Time to trade the JD 4300 for a Boomer?? I started digging around trying to find something on the web about these new Boomers, but all I could find was a dealership in Tenn. that had a couple of pics, probably scanned the brochure. It does appear to be a pretty husky unit. I called a dealership today, he said literature shows the tractor to be around 3500# (35D) and has around 1750# loader lift capacity with supersteer, 1800# with the straight axle design. The 3-point has something like 2200# at 24" behind the link ends. He just gave me some quick numbers of a 40D that he quoted another customer: 40D (40 hp) with R4 tires, loader, supersteer, and it had some other add ons that I can't remember, but around $21,000. Not bad for a tractor this size! It only has a 2 range hydro, (I suppose an A&B range) but can be shifted on the fly by a switch of some kind that is mounted on the loader joystick for another 2 ranges! (For a total of 4 ranges on this hydro.) The comment about the loader, it does have a mechanical self-leveling feature. Pretty cool. If the trade in works out, and I like how it drives, I may be driving a Boomer again?????? We'll see what happens.... Check out the pic in the link I attached below. ....

Ok, so the link thing didn't work. But if you go to www.westhillstractor.com, then go to the newsletter part, the story about the new Boomers is on list. It only gives info about horsepower and 2 pictures. ....
